We work in a challenging environment, and we are now looking for new trustees to join our board. Whilst we’re seeking people with either legal or financial expertise, we also are open to interest from people who may bring expertise other areas such as health and social care, employment, HR, or other disability related issues.
We highly value lived experience of visual impairment within MyVision. However, we also recognise we are underrepresented by women, young people, and people from the LGBTQ+ and BAME communities. We understand that we need to improve this situation and welcome interest from all sections of society.
What is expected of you?
As a member of the board, you will be responsible for the overall direction, governance, and strategy of MyVision Oxfordshire. You can find out more about the role of a trustee on the GOV.UK website: Trustee Role.
We hold four board meetings a year either in person or via Microsoft Teams. As a new trustee, we may require you to attend training throughout the year and spend some initial time getting to know the team and services we provide. We estimate this to be around 20 hours a year.
How to apply
Please share your CV, or a link to your LinkedIn profile with a short paragraph outlining why you would like to join the board.
Please send this to Mark Upton: Mark.Upton@MyVision.org.uk or call us on 01865 725595.
If you’re not sure whether you are suitable or how the process works but want to know more, please contact us, we would be happy to answer any questions.
