WEBINAR: An Introduction to Visual Impairment

Join us on Friday 24th March as we look at sight loss: effects, adaptations, communication, and sighted guiding.

You’ll hear from people with lived experience of visual impairment and learn about how they navigate the world around them. It will be a chance for you to learn more about the effects of sight loss and how you can adapt your communications and environment to make it more accessible.

Topics covered include:

  • What is visual impairment
  • Types and effects of visual impairment
  • Adaptations and accessibility
  • Communication and sighted guiding
  • Q&A and discussion

I found the information about guiding very useful. The information covered had lots of practical applications to my work in the Ashmolean Museum.

It was useful learning more about visual impairment from people with expertise and lived experience. Also the guidance on aspects to consider that would make a positive difference to people really helped.
