Sight Desk Volunteer

Time commitment: Flexible

Do you enjoy meeting new people and helping others? We are looking for volunteers to assist our sight desk at the Oxford Eye Hospital.

Purpose: To be the first point of contact for people visiting the Eye Hospital and help them to access. MyVision services.

Location: Oxford Eye Hospital wing of John Radcliffe.

Supervised by: Volunteer Coordinator and Hospital Volunteer Manager.

Duties:

  • Be the first point of contact for people visiting the Eye Hospital
  • Help people access MyVision services
  • Discuss any topics or concerns

Person Specifications:

  • Be 18 or over.
  • Outgoing and personable.
  • Able to commute to John Radcliffe Hospital (expenses can be covered).
  • Happy to provide support for the people visiting the Eye Hospital.

Visual impairment awareness training will be provided, in addition to a full DBS check. Any reasonable expenses, for example mileage, can be reimbursed. The hospital also requires separate volunteer training.
