A trip to the hospital can be a long and stressful ordeal: the long waiting times, not knowing where to go, lack of support. But do not worry! Our Sight Desk is back to help out! After being away for nearly two years, our Sight Desk has returned to The John Radcliffe Hospital.
The Sight Desk is located at the entrance of the Oxford Eye Hospital wing of John Radcliffe and is operated by volunteers who represent MyVision. Our incredible volunteers are ready to provide information for all questions and give advice on the services available, as well as listen and talk to patients attending clinics about any topics or concerns. Our aim is to make your visit to the Eye Hospital as manageable and straightforward as possible.
At our desk we also have equipment for demonstration and for sale. These items include:
Liquid level indicators
Talking clocks
Large print calendars and diaries
Broad felt pens
Large crosswords, word searches, and sudokus
Anyone is welcome to came say hello, ask any questions, or bring up any concerns.
Our volunteers are currently at the sight desk on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30am – 1:00pm
We are also looking for more volunteers to help us with the sight desk and if you are interested, please contact us at info@myvision.org.uk or 01865 725595
