Time Commitment: Flexible, roughly a couple of hours a month
Do you enjoy supporting children and young people? MyVision Oxfordshire are a charity that supports people who are visually impaired and are looking for volunteers to help and assist with various activities for children and young people.
Purpose: Supporting our Child and Young Person Coordinator at various activities including art and craft sessions, day trips to museums and a regular under 5’s group.
Location: Across various locations in Oxfordshire
Our under 5’s group will be held in Oxford at our resource centre and will be on alternate Friday mornings from 10:00am until 11:30am, starting in July.
Supervised by: Volunteer Coordinator and Child and Young Person Coordinator
Duties:
- Chat with the children and young people
- Help make refreshments for parents and carers
- Help with setting up/tidying away after sessions
Person Specification:
- You enjoy supporting children and young people and are happy to join in with activities
- Patience
- Friendliness
We will provide visual impairment awareness training, in addition to a full DBS Check. We also ask volunteers who are supporting children and young people to complete a Level 1 Child Safeguarding Course. Any reasonable expenses can be reimbursed.
