Befriender Volunteer:

Time Commitment: 1 hour a week

Do you want to brighten someone’s day? We are looking for volunteers to visit visually impaired people to provide company and be a friendly face.

Purpose: To visit an individual on a regular basis

Location: Flexible

Supervised by: Volunteer Coordinator

Duties:

  • Meet with an individual on a regular basis to provide company.
  • Listen and discuss various topics and concerns.
  • Help with basic tasks like making a cup of tea or writing cards.

Person Specification:

  • A good listener
  • Supportive
  • Confident in talking to new people.
  • Volunteers must be aged 18 or over.

We aim to match our volunteers with people who share similar interests, to allow you to build a genuine partnership. We will provide visual impairment awareness training and a full DBS check. Travel expenses can be reimbursed.
