Time Commitment: 1 hour a week
Do you want to brighten someone’s day? We are looking for volunteers to visit visually impaired people to provide company and be a friendly face.
Purpose: To visit an individual on a regular basis
Location: Flexible
Supervised by: Volunteer Coordinator
Duties:
- Meet with an individual on a regular basis to provide company.
- Listen and discuss various topics and concerns.
- Help with basic tasks like making a cup of tea or writing cards.
Person Specification:
- A good listener
- Supportive
- Confident in talking to new people.
- Volunteers must be aged 18 or over.
We aim to match our volunteers with people who share similar interests, to allow you to build a genuine partnership. We will provide visual impairment awareness training and a full DBS check. Travel expenses can be reimbursed.
