We need your support to ensure our new Community Engagement Project can reach visually impaired people across Oxfordshire.
What is the Community Engagement Project?
In a survey we conducted in January 2021, lots of people said that as many of our services are based within Oxford City, they were unable to access our support as they had no way to travel to see us. We’ve listened to this feedback and developed a five-year plan around ensuring our services reach across the county. Our plan is to have a Community Engagement Worker in each of the five districts of Oxfordshire.
Each Community Engagement Worker will cover the following areas: providing information, advice, and guidance, demonstrating equipment and technology within local community areas, setting up and supporting local peer-to-peer support groups and befriending partnerships, and raising awareness of visual impairment issues locally.
We have initially launched this work in two areas: South Oxfordshire and Oxford City. We hope that, with your support, we can introduce the project to another district next year, and by 2027 we will have established the project across the county.
How can I support the project?
By giving a regular or one-off donation you can help secure the project for years to come, and you can donate in several ways.
You can donate via our website or give us a call on 018635 725 595. You could also donate via our JustGiving page. If you’d like to learn more about how you could support MyVision, please contact our fundraising team: fundraising@MyVision.org.uk.
Your donation, however big or small, will make a huge difference to the development and growth of our Community Engagement Project, and we can’t thank you enough for your support.
